CDS: Full Service Project Management

Systems has provided a comprehensive Full Service Project Management
Information Technology (IT) operations service to its clients.
CDS has developed a number of checks-and-balances
systems, procedures and guidelines designed to reduce the
amount of time our clients have to spend managing the day-to-day
operations of their systems. These systems, The
CDS Difference, allow clients to sleep comfortably at
night, and spend their time in more productive pursuits,
like making money.
At the heart of the operation is the TOD (“Tech
on Duty”) service, a human who is reachable 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. Rather than leaving
messages on an impersonal voicemail system, clients reach
the TOD who acts as a single-point-of-contact (SPOC) for
the client. We have found, in most cases, that the TOD is
actually able to help our customers with their request,
while they are on the phone.

The TOD also monitors the CDS Alerts System,
a sophisticated system designed to monitor the health, activity,
performance and availability of client’s business systems.
We don’t just monitor the server, but the business function
itself! In the event a critical problem is identified, the
TOD is alerted via Beepmail.
Often the problem is resolved before the client knows about
it, and the way our client finds out there was a problem is
through our Incident Reporting process.
Believing that “an ounce of prevention
is worth a pound of cure” and recognizing that the best
way to prevent downtime is to ensure that all systems are
properly maintained, the TOD also manages the CDS
Control Log. Customized for each client, the CDS Control
Log is a customized check-list designed to isolate technical
patterns of activity before they become problems. The CDS
Control Log includes proactive scheduled tests of vital functions,
including the status of a server’s backup and restore
capability, file systems, email functions, performance trends,
and cyber-security status (including anti-virus, vulnerability
assessment and penetration testing. The control logs are evaluated
by CDS and submitted with our evaluation to the client with
our recommendations.
